Does Eat Stop Eat Really Work?
By John Davenport Platinum Quality Author

Eat Stop Eat is a controversial plan and a popular one as well. It was created by Brad Pilon a nutritionist and nutrition researcher. This program is controversial because it uses periodical fasting as part of its method to generate a faster weight loss. You need to fast one day each week to make this program work for you.

Does the Eat Stop Eat program really work or is this merely a gimmick? Do you just lose weight by fasting and creating a calorie deficit due to that fast? Is this some trick?

The answer is that while the weekly fast is one of bases of the diet and what gives it its name, it is not the only thing you need to do to get results with this plan and Brad Pilon is quite clear about this. You need to do strength training on a regular basis and train hard to burn body fat and build lean muscle tissue. This is not a product that simply tells you to not eat one day a week.

The method at the basis of Eat Stop Eat is called Intermittent Fasting. This means that you take a short fast every once in a while (in this case a week). This, Brad Pilon found, can actually help you to boost your metabolism, increase your energy, feel better, and burn more fat faster. During the rest of the week, when you're not fasting, you have a lot more freedom with your food then you normally have with other diet plans. This is a big advantage.

Fasting for a day can be challenging at first as you're not really used to it. You will need to exert some will power to get over this initial hurdle. However, like most new things, you get used to this and it can actually become quite enjoyable.

A word of warning though: just like anything else, you need to fast in moderation. A short fast can be helpful to fat loss, according to Brad Pilon's research, but a longer fast can be detrimental. So, don't think that more fasting is better for you. This is unlikely to be true. In fact, it can be quite harmful.

Eat Stop Eat does work and it's a good program to use if you're trying to lose weight. Just follow the program correctly, workout hard, fast just as instructed and you should do quite well.
